Victoria & Perry's Colorful Neon Museum Elopement

Victoria and Perry traveled from Hong Kong for their wedding day in Las Vegas.

Here is why they chose Las Vegas:
“We both wanted a simple and intimate wedding so we decided to elope, just the two of us. We wanted to begin our marriage by doing something different and exciting together. Las Vegas, being so unique, is somewhere we really wanted to explore together. We love how the city is so extraordinary and vibrant with all the colours of the neon signs and the casino. This is main reason why we have decided to book the Neon Boneyard and also to do trash the dress. We wanted to paint our special day with loads of colour to remind us of how lively, momentous, unique and surreal we could be.”

We first met up with them early in the morning on Fremont Street. If you’ve ever been on Fremont around 7am, it is a completely different world. I kind of loved it though. We walked around downtown before we headed to the Neon Boneyard.

Right about here, I want to throw in how they met. These are the best stories.
“Through a friend who recommended us to each other, like a blind date! We both wanted to watch the movie “3 Idiots” at that time, so we decided to go together. It was a weekday, so we didn’t have much time to spend with each other but we managed to grab a quick bite at McDonald before the movie. It was very casual and comfortable. We then headed to “The One”, the mall which the cinema is located in, for the movie. The movie is about 3 engineering students in India and maybe it is because we both studied and work in the engineering field, the movie really got us chatting and this is how we met.”

The next stop was The Little Church of the West for the wedding ceremony. Following the ceremony, the Vegas sign and then onto the Trash the Dress! We had so much fun with them. Congrats V&P!

Lauren & Dan's Milwaukee Wedding at the Church of the Gesu

This wedding was beautiful. Lauren and Dan truly love another and it shows. When a couple is so in love, it is easy for a photographer to do their job. We had been looking forward to seeing Lauren and Dan again since their engagement session in February of 2013. We had so much fun with them so we knew that the wedding day would be such a great time. We started with Lauren at a local hotel and then I headed over to get some last minute getting ready stuff with Dan. They decided not to do a first look so the first time Dan saw Lauren was as she walked down the aisle with her parents. The look on his face was the look of sheer happiness. We photograph a lot of weddings and this was a face I will never forget. Moving on, the ceremony was a traditional Catholic ceremony where the vows are exchanged in the middle of service. Following the service, we had some time with the couple and their bridal party so naturally we all headed to a bar. It’s what we all like to do, am I right? After pictures, we went to the reception where this gorgeous room was transformed into a party room. This party was HOPPIN’! Dancing, drinks, and a photo booth; oh right…and the late night snack of good old fashioned thin crust pizza. (A personal fave of mine.) Towards the end of the night, the groomsmen all took off their tuxes to show their tuxedo shirt underneath. They all ripped off the sleeves to complete their ensemble. Congrats L&D! We had such fun with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your big day!

Hunter & Nick's Ten Year Vow Renewal Vegas Style

Hunter and Nick were a super fun couple who wanted things done differently. Firstly, it was finding a tattoo artist because they wanted to get tattoos in honor of their 10 year wedding anniversary. This was easy. We have a friend named, Cassie who does pretty amazing tattoos. Next up was finding photo locations and this was also easy because they wanted a “vintage style” which leads us to the Neon Boneyard and Fremont Street. This was a shoot over two days. Day one was the tattoo day. We did some shots with the strip in the background before heading to the tattoo shop. Both Nick and Hunter were going to get tattooed but time just ran out so only Hunter ended up with ink that night. The next day we met up with them at the Neon Boneyard before heading to the Arts District and finishing at Fremont Street. We had a great time with these two. Congrats on 10 years N & H!

Nicole & Pablo's Surprise Las Vegas Wedding

Get ready for the coolest story you will ever hear. There was a couple named Pablo and Nicole and they had been together for 20 years. They had some great friends who wanted them to finally get married and Nicole’s 40th birthday was coming up. Cue the perfect makings of a surprise birthday/engagement/wedding.

Mike and I arrived in a suite at Palm’s Place where Nicole and Pablo’s family and friends were patiently waiting. Oh right, did I also mention that the families and friends had no idea that Pablo was going to propose or that a wedding was going to take place? So the bedroom of the suite was closed off to the guests and behind those doors were several dresses, different shoes, jewelry, undergarments, you name it. They thought of everything Nicole would need for her wedding day. It was amazing.

Then the magic was about to happen… Nicole and Pablo walked through the door and Nicole immediately saw her Mom. Oops! But when she rounded the corner, everyone yelled, “Surprise!” And she was surprised Thinking that it was a birthday surprise, everyone thought they “got her.” Then Pablo started talking and presented her with a ring asking her to marry him. Of course she said, yes. BUT THEN, he says, “Great! Will you marry me tonight?!” The entire room erupted! She said, “YES!” That’s when the wheels were put into fast mode. Nicole was ushered into the bedroom to get ready. Mike stayed with her as hair and make-up artist, Amelia C. got her all done up. Opal Floral was on hand to hand-make Nicole’s bouquet, along with Couture Bride who rapidly did the dress alterations in the suite. Did I mention how incredible this entire event was? As for the actual wedding, that took place up in a Penthouse Suite at the Palms Place. Scheme Events did a beautiful job of putting the event together and just an hour after the proposal, the wedding took place on the balcony of the Penthouse Suite. The couple said yes, then danced and partied the night away. It was such a truly amazing event to be able to be a part of.

Congrats N & P!

Astrid & Brad's Elvis Inspired Vegas Elopement

Astrid and Brad had a quick Vegas elopement in July. (We are a little behind on our blog posts…) They hired one of the very best in town, Rev. Roland to be Elvis and their officiant. We met up with them in the Art’s District of Las Vegas, where a “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign is painted on a wall and they chose to get married in front of it. I cannot give these two enough credit for how much fun this wedding was for us. They really made it their own, with Elvis singing in the middle of the ceremony and they broke into dancing. They even drew a small crowd of one who stayed for the entire ceremony. Following the wedded bliss, we took some more photos before doing a very small trash the dress. There was no real trashing since the silly string peeled right off. (FYI: for those of you who want to TTD but don’t want to TRASH the dress.) Congrats A&B!
